Two open mics coming up this week.
On Monday I'll be at the Poetry Co-Op Open Mic at 6:30 at the Water Witch Tiki Bar. I plan to bring a new poetry game.

My recent book, Talking to the Machines and Other Poems, included a series of poems inspired by the experience with long COVID by many survivors of the pandemic. After much discussion of possible ways to record these poems, I decided instead to turn them into a one act play. The play is at the printers, and will soon be the first of my works available exclusively from Ruminating Poet Press, my independent author venture.
More to come shortly!
HAIKU IN THE PARK - This week I went to Forsyth Park on Friday, for Valentine's Day, instead of on Saturday. We made a nice seasonal display with artificial roses to give out (far nicer than artificial intelligences). Nice day, good conversations, some people liked my poetry, and the flowers assisted the expression of some romantic attachments.
Once again, Erasmus the Reading Dragon was the most popular employee and best salesman.
Big Night at the Poetry Co-Op Open Mic last night at the Water Witch Tiki Bar. A lot of new folks both reading and in the audience. Sixteen people read, which is a record as long as I've been coming.
Poets in alphabetical order: Alx, Anthony, Ari, Assata, Carri, Claire, Darriea, Eli, Jae, Keshawn, LaLa, Mamie, Trinity, Sam, and Victoria.
Thanks to Darriea for taking the picture again.
Enjoying the warm weather, wearing tropical shirts again, but hedging my bets with warm layers under them.
I'm looking forward to Monday night's Poetry Co-Op Open Mic at Water Witch Tiki Bar. Join us there for poetry, good company, and maybe a drink or two.
